Little Sprigs of Tampa Learning Pod & Homeschool Village

Thank you for your interest in the one week Little Sprigs of Tampa Homeschooling Village.

We are more than a homeschooling village; we are a community devoted to nurturing the next
generation of well-beings.

We encourage little sprigs to explore within themselves and the world. Shaped by our philosophy and ways of being, we create a circle of kinship like the villages before us: strong in mind, full of love, and one with nature.

Our holistic approach to teaching is largely based on various program elements. Our program elements
will be taught for the duration of the week. Our program elements are the following:

Storytelling
Creative writing and pre-writing
Holistic math core foundations through play

Kindness and gratitude
Reading
Child-led learning
Holistic play
Art
Science
Health
Community
Creativity, and more!

The vision of Little Sprigs Homeschooling Village is to ignite children with a powerful sense of who they are, whilst embracing their naturally creative minds & spirits. Our homeschooling village is designed so that you and your little can flourish.

We have a rooted education approach based on the following supported and created by whole beings:

Holistic innovation (A child’s organic ability to play with existing knowledge to create new ideas with a holistic disposition & outcome)

Connectedness ( A child is part of the connection that is learning, family, community, planet & universe)

Creativity (To openly create without bounds in expression & thinking. Each child is a creative being who learns & grows in a creative environment)

Mindfulness ( A child who practices mindfulness welcomes awareness, resilience & flow)

Spirituality ( Each child is a unique being with a spirit that radiates love & divine purpose)

We believe that consciousness is at the root of a well life. Our teaching team meditates daily on our work with the children and hold them in our hearts. With little ones, our days are anchored in age-appropriate meditation, breathwork, and yoga.

We support the education of our children through Waldorf practical life skills like baking bread, hands-on learning, storytelling and more.

Children should be in environments that support their unapologetic expression of self through many avenues. We support through art, music, dance, drumming and handicrafts. We call these rituals Expressions and they are integrated into every day.

Program details and frequently asked questions

What time is the program?
Our day begins at 8:45AM. The full village experience ends at 2:45PM everyday and the half village experience ends at 11:45AM. For both programs, you can extend the day until 5:45PM with our after-school program, at extra cost.

How many children will be in the class and what is the student teacher ratio?
There are 10 children, max with two or more dedicated waldorf inspired teachers.

What ages is this program for and do children need to be toilet trained?
We are here for any littles 3-8 who are completely and confidently toilet trained.

Where is your indoor space located?
Our indoor space is located in Hillsborough County of Tampa. The indoor space is a house setting and will be a home, turned into a class room learning environment. The home setting offers a cozy feel for learning. This home is located off of Adamo near Ybor. Address will be sent after registering for privacy purposes.

What about rain and bad weather?
We don’t believe in bad weather, just inappropriate gear. We’ll be outside in all types of weather but will head back to our indoor space for extreme weather like thunder. We have a comprehensive Safety & Risk Management Guide that we’ll walk through in one of our 1:1 connection sessions.

What is the Little Sprigs approach to food and nourishment?
We provide breakfast, snacks and lunch. Our food is sourced from organic, local farms. All meals are plant-based and made in the same home of learning. We do not recommend packing food. No peanuts, dairy products, or meat products will be allowed in the facility.
