‘Bad’ Behaviors of Our Children
2 minute read
In some shape or form, we inevitably experience identical emotions to that of which we felt when we were young. Our childhood experiences and emotions never leave us. Instead, we become adults with reincarnated feelings which passes down to our offspring. Our children can take us into our emotional past and invoke deep rooted, unconscious emotions. Before we know it, we find ourselves recreating the dynamic of our own childhood.
.
.
The fearless child who was never able to cry out or speak up or call for help is now your child. The raging adult who lashes out, hitting or even emotionally tearing them down is now you. Perhaps you were that young child for so long that being able to stand up to the difficulties, stubbornness, and temperamental challenges of your child is your time to let out years of emotionally toxicity. Adults do this to other adults as well.
.
.
This isn’t always the dynamic. Sometimes our childhood experiences have us trust no one or even trust too much. This is not a judgement post, but a call to a rise in consciousness. We all need freeing. We ALL need freeing.
.
.
The ways in which your child ‘acts out’ is an opportunity for you to revisit your childhood resentment. Instead of reacting, look within yourself to ask why you react. The answer to this allows you to open the doors of consciousness because now, you are aware and questioning the one person you can control which is you.
.
.
It is ONLY when you can revisit your childhood and uncover the anger, pain, loneliness, hurt, and deceit that you can now release. Only then can you embark on the process of freeing yourself.
.
.
Our children can set us free from the chains of generational trauma which lies in the dept of the young soul. Instead, we wish to have our children fulfill our egoistic fantasies. We can wear a mask in adulthood, but it takes someone very close to us to mirror the wounds from our past.
“If you understand that the inappropriate behavior of your children is a call to increased consciousness on your part, you are able to view the opportunities to afford you to grow differently.” - Shefali.
